(1 item)Inspired by the smoky spirit of mezcal and the legendary gusano — the agave worm that’s become a symbol of strength, tradition, and flavor — the Hub City Spartanburgers transform into the Gusanos de Mezcal del Burg. The Gusanos logo depicts the worm as a jimador, a small-town agave farmer. Dedicated to their process, one which takes almost 15 years to come to fruition, the jimador watches the agave plants grow until the piña, the heart of the plant, is ready for processing. The piña is roasted in underground pits for several days, developing mezcal’s distinct smoky flavor, then can take weeks to ferment. Finally, the liquid is distilled multiple times to ensure the desired concentration and consistency of the finished product. The Spartanburgers view mezcal as the “spirit that represents the spirit” of minor league baseball, Spartanburg, and Fifth Third Park.
Inspirados por el espíritu ahumado del mezcal y el legendario gusano — el gusano de agave que se ha convertido en un símbolo de fuerza, tradición y sabor — los Hub City Spartanburgers se transforman en Gusanos de Mezcal del Burg. El logotipo de los Gusanos representa al gusano como un jimador, un agricultor de agave de un pequeño pueblo. Dedicado a su oficio — un proceso que puede tardar casi 15 años en completarse — el jimador cuida las plantas de agave mientras crecen hasta que la piña, el corazón de la planta, está lista para su procesamiento. La piña se asa en fosas subterráneas durante varios días, desarrollando el distintivo sabor ahumado del mezcal, y luego puede fermentar durante varias semanas.
